چکیده

Dissociations between explicit and implicit memory tests, between recollective and automatic retrieval processes, and between memorial states of awareness of past events all suggest that human memory is not a unitary faculty. Memory dissociations reflect the complex relationship between consciousness and memory. To understand such a complex relationship, any single level of analysis is not enough and may be misleading. A multi-level analysis was proposed. One of the most serious problems with the processdissociation procedure is its failure to separate process level of analysis and memorial awareness level of analysis. One experiment was reported to support the above arguments.

A unitary signal-detection model of implicit and explicit memory.

Do dissociations imply independent systems? In the memory field, the view that there are independent implicit and explicit memory systems has been predominantly supported by dissociation evidence. Here, we argue that many of these dissociations do not necessarily imply distinct memory systems. We review recent work with a single-system computational model that extends signal-detection theory (S...

Modeling and Performance Evaluation of Multi-Processors Organization with Shared Memories

This paper is primarily concerned with theoretical evaluation of the performance of multiprocessors system. A markovian waiting line model has been developed for various different multi-processors configurations, with shared memory. The system is analysed at the request level rather than job level.

A direct comparison of anterior prefrontal cortex involvement in episodic retrieval and integration.

Retrieval of information from episodic memory reliably engages regions within the anterior prefrontal cortex (aPFC). This observation has led researchers to suggest that these regions may subserve processes intimately tied to episodic retrieval. However, the aPFC is also recruited by other complex tasks not requiring episodic retrieval. One hypothesis concerning these results is that episodic r...

Differential associations between types of verbal memory and prefrontal brain structure in healthy aging and late life depression.

Verbal memory deficits attributed to late life depression (LLD) may result from executive dysfunction that is more detrimental to list-learning than story-based recall when compared to healthy aging. Despite these behavioral dissociations, little work has been done investigating related neuroanatomical dissociations across types of verbal memory performance in LLD. We compared list-learning to ...
